I can give many reasons why I believe a cooperative is incredibly valuable for our home-schoolers, and graduation is at the top of the list! We just ended our year with Tessa’s graduation celebration. It’s a time for us to spotlight our kids who are leaving Aspen and will continue to share their light and talents with so many others. We also present some special awards to those in our cooperative who have excelled. The culminating event of the evening is a short speech by the graduates and a video highlight of the graduating students.
We shared hugs and tears and laughter and really good food. Each graduation evening is memorable to all who come. Many who join us for the first time are surprised by the power of the night. The seniors leave with their diploma, their G.P.A., but more importantly a sense of accomplishment and a healthy dose of confidence!
It’s something that any cooperative can do. We started our tradition over ten years ago. It was wonderful then and it’s even better now! That’s exactly what happens when we come together to celebrate one another!
