Each time we meet as a cooperative, we start out with a little tradition we like to call mind math! It has become one of our trademarks. If ever I forget to do it, the kids will undoubtedly remind me! Our long time students love it, but that is because they have had a lot of practice. Newer students find it a bit daunting, but love the challenge! Keep in mind that I go much slower when first introducing our “mind math” so that students don’t get frustrated. With my older students I start out fast the first time and slow it down a bit each time thereafter. I generally do it three different times. I thought it might be nice for you to see it in action.
